The Accessible Travel Intelligence Suite

Travel data built for
every body.

Airlines. Cruises. Ports. Excursions. Resorts. Destinations. Rail. Events. Travel Insurance. Medical Resources.

The travel industry publishes almost nothing useful for plus size travelers, people managing chronic illness, travelers with mobility challenges or anyone flying with medical equipment. What exists is scattered, outdated or buried in fine print.

Travendex built the databases that should have existed a decade ago. Verified policies, real dimensions, actual accessibility data across every part of your trip, all in one place.

Why Travendex Exists

The data that should
already exist.

Somewhere between 26% and 42% of American adults are considered plus size depending on the metric used. Roughly 61 million Americans live with a disability. More than 60 million have at least one chronic illness. These are not niche travelers. They are the majority of travelers and the travel industry publishes almost nothing useful for any of them.

What does exist is scattered across a hundred different forum posts, airline fine print buried in PDFs, cruise brochures that omit cabin dimensions entirely and the occasional outdated blog post that nobody has verified since 2019. Accessible travel research is a second job for people who already have enough to manage.

Travendex is a suite of databases, not a blog. No affiliate links. No sponsored content. No best of lists based on nothing. Every entry is sourced, dated and built to be updated when the actual policy changes, because airline and cruise line policies change constantly.

The same database that covers fat travel on airlines also covers traveling with a power wheelchair, flying with a CPAP machine, cruising while managing fibromyalgia, booking a resort with genuinely accessible rooms and taking a shore excursion from a port without a dock. This is not one community. It is many and they deserve the same quality of information everyone else takes for granted.

Built for Plus Size Travelers
Customer of size airline policies. Seat width and pitch data. Cruise cabin capacity. Resort and hotel room ratings for larger bodies. The dimensions and policies airlines and cruise lines do not publish prominently.
Built for Disabled and Mobility Challenged Travelers
Wheelchair accessibility at every level of the trip. Power wheelchair airline transport rules. Mobility scooter storage on cruise ships. Port terrain and tender accessibility. ADA compliance data and where it falls short in practice.
Built for Chronic Illness Travelers
CPAP and oxygen concentrator airline policies. Medical documentation requirements. Onboard medical facilities on cruise ships. Fatigue and pacing data for excursions. Pharmacy proximity at destinations for travelers who need reliable medication access.
Built for Every Kind of Traveler
Solo women travelers, group travelers, first time cruisers, travelers with anxiety, travelers navigating airports in wheelchairs for the first time. The databases are built for specific communities but useful to anyone who wants real information over glossy brochures.

Travel Intelligence for Every Body

What we actually cover

Airline Accessibility

Plus size airline travel requires knowing the actual seat width of the specific aircraft you are booking, not a generic average. AirEndex indexes seat dimensions by aircraft type, customer of size policies for every major carrier and what the policy actually means in practice versus what it says on paper.

Flying with a wheelchair means navigating a system that was not built for you. Power wheelchair battery type requirements, advance notice rules, the difference between airport wheelchair assistance and your own mobility equipment and which airlines handle both better or worse than average.

Traveling with medical equipment including CPAP machines, portable oxygen concentrators, insulin coolers and nebulizers each has a different set of airline rules and TSA procedures. AirEndex covers all of them by carrier.

Cruise Ship Accessibility

Plus size cruising starts with the cabin. Bed width, chair capacity, doorframe dimensions, bathroom layout and whether the bed frame allows for a CPAP machine to sit beside it at head height. CruisEndex covers what brochures leave out.

Accessible cruising for wheelchair users involves more than ADA compliant cabins. It includes which ships have roll in showers, which pools have lifts, how crew assistance is structured at tender ports and which itineraries avoid the tender ports entirely.

Cruising with chronic illness means knowing the medical facility on board before you book. Ship size, onboard medical staffing levels, defibrillator availability, refrigerated medication storage and how crew are trained to handle medical events at sea.

Ports, Destinations and Beyond

Accessible shore excursions are one of the most researched and least well documented parts of cruise travel. PortEndex and ExcursEndex will cover terrain types, walking distances in precise measurements, seating availability and a physical demand rating built specifically for travelers managing pain, fatigue and mobility limitations.

Fat travel at resorts and hotels is almost entirely undocumented. Weight rated furniture, chair arm width, pool lift access, beach wheelchair availability and whether "accessible room" means the bathroom actually works for a plus size body. ResortEndex covers what no other database does.

Group travel accessibility, solo women's travel, rail travel for wheelchair users, festival and event accessibility and travel with medical equipment internationally all require data that DestEndex will provide, including medication import rules, healthcare quality rankings and practical local accessibility conditions.
